Lovesick

"Lovesick" is a song by British-Norwegian producer and DJ Alan Walker with vocals by Sophie Simmons.

The song premiered on November 4, 2022, along with an official music video. It is the second single from his fourth album "Walkerverse Pt. II" and introduces listeners to the atmosphere of the Walkerverse combined with classical music.

The track combines energetic sounds with melancholic lyrics to create an unforgettable journey across the emotional spectrum. The music, created by Alan Walker and combined with Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Johannes Brahms, blends perfectly with Sophie's vocals, providing listeners with a unique sonic experience.
"Lovesick" is an integral part of the Walkerverse Pt. II album, which expands Walker's universe with a new drone and promises an extraordinary journey through the next stages of the artist's musical world.

meaning

The lyrics of this song seem to tell the story of separated lovers who dream of meeting again and discover the power of their love through music. Here is my interpretation:

The song begins with a confession that before going to sleep, the author prays for a reunion with his beloved, who is millions of miles away. He expresses hope that one day they will meet again. Although they are separated, they believe they will find a way to be together. They plan to make beautiful music, combining bitter melodies with sweet harmonies to create a symphony of their love.

The refrain calls for singing for all the tears they cry, and for the moment of saying goodbye. The author suggests that when they close their eyes, they will hear their morbid lullaby, which will remind them of their shared love.

In the following stanzas, the author recalls the words of his beloved, which he still has in his memory. He loves the way this person moves him and how deeply it affects his heart. The music they create together has the power to penetrate the deepest feelings and memories.

Again, the chorus suggests that by singing about their experiences, both joy and sorrow, they will be able to strengthen their bond. The final line, "we'll hear our morbid lullaby," emphasizes the hope of reconnecting and hearing a common melody of love.

The entire song is imbued with the melancholy of separation, but also the strong conviction that love and music are stronger than distance. The lyrics reflect the desire to reunite and the power of shared passion and emotional connection.

Original

The song is based on Johannes Brahms - Hungarian Dance No. 5 completed in 1879.
Its beginning is the main theme in Lovesick

music video

The "Lovesick" music video focuses on the presentation of the new drone. Throughout the music video we see various close-ups of the drone and monitors of its parameters. Technical details and the modern design of the device are shown, enhancing the impression of a futuristic atmosphere.

In the final scenes, we get shots of the moment the drone is activated, which are combined with a chaotic flickering of lights in the room. This sequence can be interpreted as the key moment when the drone is activated and prepared for action. (This entire theme can be traced back to the events depicted in Walker's previous music video, "Force," where the Walkers, in a secret hideout, use a pendant to activate a drone for a drone race.)

This set design and visualization builds suspense and excitement around the drone itself and gives a preview of its potential uses in the world depicted by Alan Walker. Ultimately, the video not only complements the narrative of the "Walkerverse Pt. II" album, but also expands the universe by introducing an exciting new technological element.

locations

It is possible that the entire video takes place in the secret hideout we see in Force. However, this is not a reliable infromation but only a theory.
Besides, the room he is in does not have any opening in the ceiling through which he could fly out (as we see in Force).
